Former physics and science education major John Tumbleston ’06 is part of a team whose work on a highly innovative new process for rapid 3D printing was published in Science.
The article, “Continuous liquid interface production of 3D objects,” describes the results of the team’s research at Silicon Valley-startup Carbon3D. This new process, also known as CLIP, was simultaneously revealed in a TED talk this week by the company co-founder Joseph DeSimone.
Articles about the “mind-blowing” technique revealed in the TED talk and Science paper appeared in many news outlets, including the Washington Post, Wired Magazine, Engadget and NBC News.
