A rabbi with an accomplished history of leading Jewish communities, Goldstein comes to Elon University from the Pardes Jewish Day School in Phoenix.
Rabbi Meir Goldstein joins the Elon University staff this summer as associate chaplain for Jewish Life in the Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life.
Goldstein comes to North Carolina from the Pardes Jewish Day School in Phoenix, where he is director of Jewish Life and Learning. He has led Jewish communities as a high school teacher in Los Angeles, a university Hebrew instructor, a camp counselor, a pulpit rabbi, and as the Hillel program director at Arizona State University.
Goldstein was educated at the Ziegler Rabbinic School of the American Jewish University, the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, and the University of Arizona where he majored in anthropology with a dual focus on the Religions of India and Social Theory.
He has extensive experience in multi-faith work as well as in building Jewish community. Goldstein will work closely with Ginny Vellani, acting director Elon Hillel.
Goldstein will be joined by his wife, Laura, and officially begins his work at Elon University on June 15, 2015.
