Fifteen incoming Elon University students began their collegiate studies on a semester program that takes them across the nation to grow leadership skills and serve communities with various needs.

Twenty-five candidates in Elon University's Master of Education program received degrees Saturday in a ceremony highlighted by a Commencement address that challenged teachers to unshackle their students' minds and inspire them to pursue their dreams.

The Elon alumna serves as the Alamance-Burlington School System's Curriculum Specialist for Elementary Literacy.
