Chris Richardson, assistant professor of physics, presented a poster on research conducted in collaboration with Tony Crider, associate professor of physics, and Elon Honors Fellow Ben Kaiser ’16, pertaining to morphology of galaxies experiencing star formation. The poster sparked interesting discussion at the XXIX International Astronomy Union General Assembly held August 3-14 in Hawaii, a conference held only every three years that attracts astronomers from all over the world. The poster will be published in the proceedings of the conference.
Helen Meskhidze, Elon Honors Fellow ’16 and Lumen Prize recipient, also attended the conference to network with fellow astronomers and discuss her Lumen Prize research with world-renowned experts in her area of study.
