The Liberal Arts Forum brings to campus this semester internationally acclaimed photographer and filmmaker Edward Burtynsky, whose work is described as "visually stunning and truly global in the spatial, conceptual and political sense of that word."

Contemporary artist Edward Burtynsky will present an overview of the production and content of his recent large-scale photographs and films. His images and film “Manufactured Landscapes” graphically address the often contentious relations between humans and nature through the complex juxtaposition of beauty, order and destruction.
In the process, his work imbricates a large number of topical issues including the inequities of current globalism, environmentalism, capitalist mass consumerism, poverty, physical and psychological wellbeing, human labour, order and regimentation, visual culture and the very future of our planet.
