The competition, sponsored by Amica Mutual Insurance Company, offers Elon students the chance to further develop their professional selling skills.
Amica Mutual Insurance Company has partnered with the Chandler Family Professional Sales Center to offer the Amica/Elon Challenge, a professional selling competition for Elon students. The challenge is open to students of any major.
In two-person teams, students are tasked to prepare a written sales presentation and a record a role play in which one student plays a salesperson representing Amica and the other student is a prospective employee applying for an associate adjuster position.
The first-place team will receive $1,300 and the second-place team will receive $700. Winners will be chosen by a team from Amica Mutual Insurance Company.
Erin Gillespie, assistant professor of marketing; Coleman Rich, chair of the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship; and Raghu Tadepalli, dean of the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, will serve as consultants to participating teams.
To participate in the challenge, teams need to fill out and submit an application by Oct. 1. The sales presentation and role play are due by Oct. 15. For details and the application, email elonbusiness@gmail.com.
