Elon Law Professor Henry Gabriel presented a paper Sept. 9 at the Oxford University Faculty of Law on the international financing of agricultural, construction and mining equipment. The paper will be published in the forthcoming issue of the Cape Town Academic Law Review.
On Sept. 24, Prof. Gabriel spoke at the American Society of International Law on international contract farming. Prof. Gabriel chaired the international working group that produced the recently published United Nations/UNIDROIT Legislative Guide to Contract Farming.
Appointed by successive presidential administrations, Gabriel serves as a U.S. delegate to the U.N. Commission on International Trade Law where he has worked on international trade laws for electronic commerce and transport documents. He also advises the U.S. State Department as a member of the Department’s Advisory Committee on Private International Law, and he is an elected member of Rome’s Governing Council of the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT).
