The chapter of the honorary organization for financial information students and professionals was awarded Superior status for its efforts during the 2014-15 academic year.
Elon’s Lambda Xi chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, the honorary organization for financial information students and professionals, has been recognized by the international organization as a Superior Chapter.
“Recognition as a Superior Chapter is a significant accomplishment,” said Shawn Hunter, the 2015-16 president of Beta Alpha Psi. “Under the leadership of Patty Cox, the Lambda Xi chapter has far exceeded the baseline requirements of Beta Alpha Psi and has excelled in the areas of academic, professionalism and leadership.”
Assistant Professor Patty Cox has advised the Lambda Xi chapter since 2007. This past summer, she received the Beta Alpha Psi Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award in honor of her work with the chapter.
The Lambda Xi chapter was named Student Organization of the Year in the more than 30 members category by Elon’s Student Government Association in 2011 and 2015.
The chapter’s officers for the 2014-15 academic year were:

- Kenny Straub, vice president of events
- Robert Danis, vice president of service
- Michael Visconti, vice president of media
