The Elon graduate won re-election for his position as treasurer after a strong vote of confidence this month at an assembly in Moscow.
Elon University graduate Patrick Singleton ’97 won re-election for his position as treasurer for the World Olympians Association after a strong vote of confidence this month at an assembly in Moscow.
He was first elected to the position in 2011 four a four-year term. Speaking at the WOA General Assembly this month after the election, Singleton said that he was excited for the opportunities ahead of him.
Graduating from the School of Communications, Singleton worked in broadcasting and print journalism for Japan’s Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper and Bloomberg News in Tokyo and London, among others. He competed in the men’s singles luge in the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan, and the 2002 Games in Salt Lake City. In the 2006 Olympics, Singleton competed in the skeleton in the Turin, Italy. During his senior career, he had 14 podium finishes and four race wins.
