Elon University's Campus Recreation is hosting a 5K run/walk on South Campus to jumpstart the Thanksgiving season and give back by supporting Allied Churches of Alamance County.
Students, faculty and staff will gather for the 24th annual Turkey Trot 5K run/walk on Elon’s South Campus on Nov. 6 at 3:30 p.m. to benefit Allied Churches of Alamance County.
The first 200 people to register will receive a free t-shirt. Participants can register at the Campus Recreation front desk starting Oct. 26 at 8 a.m. with an entrance fee of two canned goods. Onsite registration will begin at 3 p.m. Registrants must provide a valid Phoenix Card.
The race is open to runners of all levels and abilities, and Jones Racing Company will time all participants. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each division, which includes male students, female students, male faculty/staff and female faculty/staff.
The 2014 Turkey Trot drew about 140 runners and Campus Recreation hopes to attract even more this year.
