Community Action in the Arts
Using the theme DISCOVER, 20 Elon students collaborated over Winter Term 2016 to dye, print and stitch together an art quilt for Madison Elementary School in Greensboro, N.C.
The Discover Quilt (118″ W X 86″h) was one project in Professor Peg Gignoux’s “Story Magic” class. The overall design of the art quilt was derived from images created by sudents in the elementary school.
Elon students explored the vivid possibilities of pattern and design through this community action project.
