Assistant Professor Carmen Monico joined well-known adoption practitioners and researchers in the production of the recently published Columbia University Press book “Transracial and intercountry adoption: Cultural guidance for professionals.”
The guide addresses key developmental, cultural, health, and behavioral considerations in transracial and international adoption, and provides recommendations for avoiding fraud and coercion and techniques for navigating domestic and foreign adoption laws.
The book chapter Monico contributed with Karen Rotabi is titled “Intercountry Adoptions: Legal and Policy Issues Affecting Intercountry Adoption Practices.” The book may be found in the Belk Library or acquired at the CUP website.
