KCSL: Muscular Dystrophy Summer Camp

Muscular Dystrophy Association is seeking volunteers to serve as summer camp counselors June 5-10.

Come spend a week with MDA! Campers are between the ages of 6 and 17 and have been diagnosed with a neuromuscular disease. Each counselor will be paired one-on-one with a camper and and will be responsible for assisting that camper in camp activities (fishing, swimming, power soccer) and possibly daily living activities (eating and showering). This is often referred to as the best week of the year.

Volunteering at MDA Summer Camp will enrich your life and inspire you in ways you never dreamed possible. Counselors will help kids discover new interests, build self-confidence and experience the independence of being away from home in a safe environment where barriers don’t exist. Counselors will enhance your résumé when applying for scholarships, college, graduate school, employment, etc., along with receiving 144 volunteer hours. You will develop important leadership skills while simultaneously giving back to your community. Volunteers are expected to be at camp the whole week (June 5-10).
