Accounting and finance students joined the honor organization for financial information students and professionals
Twenty Martha and Spencer Love School of Business students were initiated into Elon University’s Lambda Xi chapter of Beta Alpha Psi in a Feb. 9 ceremony in the LaRose Digital Theatre.
The Lambda Xi chapter of the honor organization for financial information students and professionals is hosted by the Department of Accounting and is advised by Assistant Professor Patty Cox.

Approximately 75 students attended an interest meeting following the ceremony, featuring guest speaker Danny Lanier, assistant professor of accounting. He focused on how Beta Alpha Psi successfully prepares students for their future careers.
Established in 2006, the Lambda Xi chapter strives to create relationships between students, professionals and educators. The chapter facilitates weekly meetings with business professionals and hosts professional development and career events, such as the annual Accounting Meet and Greet. Additionally, members participate in several service projects, including tutoring programs, Habitat for Humanity and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.
