Hundreds of accomplished high school students accepted into Elon University’s Class of 2020 will visit campus March 4-5, 2016, to interview for scholarships and grants made available through the highly selective Fellows Programs.
The Elon University community welcomes to campus this weekend hundreds of distinguished high school seniors and their families as students accepted into the Class of 2020 compete for selection into the Elon Fellows Programs.
Students and families will take campus tours, attend seminars, interview with faculty and staff, and much more.
Of those accepted into the newest class, 732 are competing for 180 total fellowships (Honors, Elon College, Teaching, Business, Communications, and Leadership.) Though not all fellows receive scholarships, each will be awarded a $1,000 global study grant, and the university organizes cohort experiences in all majors, except engineering.
“Elon’s Fellows programs are value-added experiences offering students a guided pathway to our signature programs including Global Study, internship, undergraduate research, leadership and service,” said Greg Zaiser ’90, vice president of admissions and financial planning at Elon University. “Fellows Weekend helps incoming students identify learning opportunities and scholarly mentors they’ll want to seek regardless of their involvement in a particular program. Also, it’s yet another way for us to learn about the goals and aspirations of the Class of 2020’s ambitious young minds.”
