Amanda Chunco and Jennifer Hamel co-mentor student conference experience

Amanda Chunco, assistant professor of environmental studies, and Jennifer Hamel, assistant professor of biology, took six students to the annual meeting of the Association of Southeastern Biologists March 31-April 2.

Jenny Archis, who is majoring biology and environmental studies; Tyler Lehmann, who is majoring in environmental studies; Dawson Nance, who is majoring in biology; and Paige Stover, who is majoring in biology, presented posters at the conference.

Two additional students, Emma Eskeland, who is majoring in biology, and Cas Levy, who is majoring in environmental studies, attended the conference but did not present research. The Annual Meeting of the Association of Southeastern Biologists is the largest regional ecology conference in the U.S., and it was hosted at the Concord Convention Center in North Carolina.  Travel funding to the conference was provided by Elon’s Undergraduate Research Program.
