SUB announces Drezo as the latest addition to the  Spring Event Series

Friday, April 29 at 10 p.m. EDM DJ Drezo with special guest ADzMAN to perform in Tap House.

The Student Union Board continues to add to the lineup of artists as a part of the Spring Event Series. The latest being electronic dance music artist Drezo, who will headline “Glow Hard or Go Home,” a partnership event with Friday Night Live in Tap House on Friday, April 15 at 10 p.m.

Drezo coming to Elon adds to the diverse lineup of artists who have visited as a part of SUB’s Spring Event Series this past semester.

In a music scene of tiring trends and forced formulaic content, Drezo has undeniably defined his own sound; dark atmospheres and garage beats over heavy, punctuated bass lines creating a uniquely energetic dynamic with roots in the underground and the potential to devastate any dance floor.

Support from a long list of respected tastemakers including Diplo, Dillon Francis, Destructo, Porter Robinson, DJ Snake, Tchami, Major Lazer, Jauz, Zedd and The Chainsmokers has rapidly brought his bass-driven music to the masses in recent months.

Releases on OWSLA and Mad Decent in the last six months are just one indicator of his increasing popularity and further unreleased Drezo tracks have been quickly identified as his work and hotly talked about across the internet.

With DJ Hanzel and Habstrakt collaborations, remixes crafted for Destructo and Haezer in his distinct vision and many more hard hitting low-end originals stored deep in his vaults expected to surface through 2016, everybody is eagerly waiting to discover when and where the next releases will come from.

This summer Drezo is scheduled to tour the country, visiting multiple EDM events, most notably EDC New York and Orlando, as well as Hard Summer and Paradiso Festival.

SUBLive co-chair Landon Kestlinger is looking forward to bringing an EDM artist to campus as it something we haven’t had before.

“We don’t have a club scene around Elon, and although there are some late night options on the weekend, they’re often exclusive and never with DJs as awesome as Drezo!” Kestlinger said. “My co-chair and I feel proud to bring the first glow rave to the university.”

Rachel DiCioccio, also a SUBLive co-chair, adds, “It’ll be so much fun, especially with the glow paint, glow sticks, highlighters, and free neon t-shirts.”

In addition to Drezo, SUB welcomes another EDM DJ, ADzMAN, courtesy of Elon’s Student Run Music Agency, LimeLight. In the world of ADzMAN, darkness and music collide for an out of this world experience. Take hip-hop, electronica, and put it behind a mask that pulses to the music and you’ve got it. A pretty cool take on the electronic music scene.

At age 13, ADzMAN, otherwise known as Adam Freudeistien, began mixing and composing hip-hop beats into music for friends. He immediately fell in love with the feeling he received when the crowds cheered in anticipation for the next drop. After taking note of EDM’s rise as a genre, he was heavily influenced by its sound, and wanted to not only replicate that sound but also mold it into his own creations. While ADzMAN’s roots are in hip-hop and rap, his technique and passions evolved into an EDM sensation that clubs in NYC rave over- and more are bound to follow.

To go along with the “Glow Hard or Glow Home” theme SUB is giving out free t-shirts for the first 50 attendees, highlighters, and glow items at the door. All Elon students, faculty and staff will receive free entry to the event with a valid university issued ID.

As with all Friday Night Live events, free food, drinks, and a cash bar will be provided. For more information on upcoming Friday Night Live events visit http://fridaynightlive.squarespace.com/ !
