Four applied mathematics majors presented their research in July at the at the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics Annual Meeting
Elon applied mathematics majors Michelle Rave and Kelly Reagan presented their research related to modeling the spread of dengue fever at the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) Annual Meeting in Boston, July 11-14.
Reagan, along with applied mathematics majors Nathan Pool and Emily Swanson, also presented work they developed while participating in a NSF funded program during the spring semester. As part of that program, called Preparation for Industrial Careers in Mathematical Sciences (PIC Math), they worked on an x-ray imaging problem for National Securities Technology.
