The longtime member and former chair of the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business Board of Advisors died July 16.
Greensboro, N.C., businessman Peter L. Tourtellot, 78, passed away July 16, 2016. Tourtellot had been a member of the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business Board of Advisors since 1996, and served as chair from 2003 until 2010. During his time as chair, the school achieved accreditation by AACSB International and opened the Koury Business Center.
Tourtellot was a founding principal of Anderson Bauman Tourtellot Vos & Company, a corporate revitalization company that works with companies in more than 40 industries throughout the United States. In his capacity as a turnaround professional, Tourtellot served as interim CEO and president of companies in a wide variety of industry sectors, as well as a consultant to many others. A leader in the development of the turnaround management profession, he was a past president and chairman of the Turnaround Management Association and a past president and chair of its Carolinas chapter.
In 2010 the Love School of Business established the Peter L. Tourtellot Scholarship in honor of his dedicated service to the school.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, in the sanctuary, followed by a gathering at Redhead Hall at First Presbyterian Church, 617 N Elm St, Greensboro.
