Benevolence Farm is seeking volunteers for their Second Chance Dine and Dance annual fundraiser on Thursday, Oct. 13. Proceeds raised go towards our mission to provide transitional housing and employment for women who are leaving prison. The D&D features live music (this year it’s Kamara Thomas and the Night Drivers and Sarah Shook), food prepared by local chefs, testimonials from formerly incarcerated women, and a silent auction. Volunteers help staff set up and break down the event; monitor food, waste, and the silent auction; take tickets at the door; and other jobs as they occur. Approximately 15-20 volunteers are needed for shifts at 3 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. If interested, please contact Emma Mankin. All Elon students must complete Title IX Training on Moodle before volunteering in the community. Your agency may also require a criminal background check.
