Lumen Scholar Ashley King ’17 is traveling to Hong Kong to present her dance biomechanics research at the International Dance and Medicine Science Conference that begins Oct. 19.
The dance and exercise science major has studied the effects of chronic injury and leg dominance on the saut de chat, a type of jump.
King’s mentor is Joyce Davis, professor of exercise science. Davis is also attending the conference and will present her research on the effects of pointe shoes on lower body kinematics.
