Elon Music Theatre alum Chris Wood '10 is among the cast of 'Supergirl' on The CW, joining fellow alum Grant Gustin as a CW/Marvel superhero.
On Monday, the second season of the hit TV show “Supergirl” premiered, revealing a new character from Krypton – Mon-El. Elon Music Theatre alumnus Chris Wood ’10 is portraying the character of Mon-El, a new superhero who will now be a series regular for the entirety of the second season of “Supergirl.”
This isn’t the first time Wood has been in a starring role. After graduation, he starred in “Damn Yankees” at Papermill Playhouse and shortly after starred in the National Tour of “Spring Awakening” as Melchior. As he transitioned to more television work, Wood played recurring roles in the hit TV shows “The Carrie Diaries,” “Girls,” and “The Vampire Diaries.” This past year, he played the lead, Jake, in the new CW show “Containment.”
Wood joins fellow Elon alum Grant Gustin in The CW’s superhero universe, featuring all DC Comic characters. Gustin currently plays Barry Allen/The Flash on the hit TV show “The Flash.” Gustin has also made appearances recently on The CW shows “Arrow,” “Supergirl,” and “Legends of Tomorrow.”
It’s only a matter of time before the two Elon alumni cross paths in The CW’s DC Comics superhero universe!
