John Replogle, president and CEO of the household and personal care products company, will be speaking at Elon about the power of business leaders to drive positive change.
President and CEO of consumer products company Seventh Generation John Replogle will present “Leading with Purpose” on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lakeside meeting rooms.
Replogle has worked for a number of businesses modeled on the triple bottom line: a thriving company that also operates with the health of people and the planet in mind. “Business is one of the most powerful instruments for meaningful change on our planet,” states Replogle.
Founded more than 25 years ago, Burlington, Vermont-based Seventh Generation is a producer and distributor of common household items, especially cleaners, that are better for people’s health and the environment. The company was founded on the principle credited to an Iroquois philosophy that in every deliberation, the impact of decisions on the next seven generations must be considered.
Illustrating the power of business to drive change, Seventh Generation recently launched their ComeClean campaign to support the Cleaning Product Right to Know Act. The Act calls for companies to disclose ingredients in cleaning products.
Prior to joining Seventh Generation in 2011, Replogle worked as the President and CEO of Burt’s Bees and held a management position at Unilever where he helped launch Dove’s ‘Real Beauty’ campaign. Replogle has been recognized with the 2012 Global Green Millennium Award for Corporate Environmental Citizenship and the 2011 United Nations Leader of Change Award.
