The foundation encourages men to go without shaving during November to raise money for men's health issues.
Throughout the month of November, the brothers of the Lambda-Lambda Chapter of Kappa Sigma Fraternity at Elon University grew mustaches to raise awareness and solicit donations for men’s health issues in support of the Movember Foundation.
The Movember Foundation tackles men’s health issues on a global scale throughout the year. This includes addressing some of the biggest health issues faced by men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
Elon’s Kappa Sigma chapter began the month with a goal of raising $15,000 to be donated to the Movember Foundation campaign. After a full month of putting their razors down and raising money, the fraternity was able to surpass their goal and finish the month with $15,996 raised, earning the chapter a national ranking of 54th among groups raising money for the foundation.
This is the fourth consecutive year Elon’s Kappa Sigma chapter has raised more than $10k for this worthy cause. The group looks forward to next November when they will participate in the Movember Foundation campaign yet again.
