Louisa May Alcott's novel has been adapted for the stage and will be produced by the Department of Performing Arts.
Elon’s Department of Performing Arts will present the musical “Little Women,” based on Louisa May Alcott’s novel, from April 27 through May 1.
Produced nationally and internationally, “Little Women” has been praised by critics for its ambition in adapting such a well-known story for the stage. The timeless story of the March sisters coming of age in Massachusetts during the Civil War is brought to life in this glorious musical filled with discovery, heartache, hope and everlasting love.
The musical will be performed in Roberts Studio Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on April 27 and 28, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on April 29, at 2 p.m. on April 30 and at 7:30 p.m. on May 1.
Music for the production is by Jason Howland, lyrics are by Mindi Dickson and the book is by Allan Knee. Direction and choreography are by Linda Sabo and musical direction isby Ethan Andersen.
