The $2,000 scholarship awarded by N.C. Independent College and Universities is based on merit.
Katelyn Roache ’19 has been awarded a $2,000 Burlington Industries Foundation Scholarship by N.C. Independent Colleges and Universities (NCICU) for the current academic year. Roache, a native of Mocksville, N.C., is majoring in accounting and was awarded the scholarship based on merit.
The Burlington Industries Foundation has contributed more than $1 million to NCICU through the Independent College Fund of North Carolina during the past 57 years. The fund is the fundraising arm of NCICU, a statewide association that supports, represents, and advocates for North Carolina’s 36 independent colleges and universities.
“We are deeply grateful to the Burlington Industries Foundation for their continuing contributions to higher education, to students and to our future economy,” NCICU President Hope Williams said. “The scholarship provides critical support to students and helps make a college education possible.”
The Burlington Industries Foundation was established in 1943 for the purpose of providing financial assistance primarily to higher education and other organizations serving communities where large numbers of Burlington employees live and work.
