Ann Fritchman Merkel is the current chief customer officer of the $1.2 billion intimates business for HanesBrands. In this role, Merkel oversees the sales and field service merchandising organizations for such strategic partners as Kohl’s, Macy’s, Sears Holdings and JCPenney. In addition to these customers, Merkel also coordinates with leaders of HanesBrands’ Walmart and Target teams to ensure alignment of their strategies with the total Hanes intimates business.

In 2014, Merkel was recognized as the YWCA Women of Vision Award winner for business and in 2015 was honored with a mentoring award at the Global Women’s Leadership Conference. Her peers at HanesBrands honored her with the latter to recognize her dedication to helping others reach their personal and professional potential. 

During “Account management at scale: How to win with today’s mega retailers,” Merkel will discuss the strategies and techniques that are required to effectively manage and grow with the mega retailers of today. She will address the fundamentals of sales and how to execute them with a depth that this scale requires.
