The Environmental and Animal Law Society has coordinated programs leading up to April 22, a worldwide day of celebration of environmental protections and the preservation of natural resources.
Thursday, April 20: Students will conduct an Operation Bedroll event from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. in Elon Law’s Cemala Commons. Organizers will collect plastic bags for recycling and weave recycled material into sleeping mats for homeless residents of Greensboro who spend their nights on the ground.
Saturday, April 22: The Society will represent Elon Law at the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market at 501 Yanceyville Street. Students will have a booth set up to discuss environmental issues, talk about ongoing projects, and distribute free sustainability-themed items. Society leaders said they are encouraging the Elon Law and Elon University communities to join them in support local farmers and businesses as they celebrate Earth Day.
