The American Chemical Society Student Affiliate Chapter (ACSSA) earned a certificate for most laps walked in Elon’s Colleges Against Cancer Relay for Life event on April 21 for the second year in a row. Participation in the annual event is a highlight for the chemistry and biochemistry majors, who hope that investment in basic research in their fields will further fundamental scientific knowledge and ultimately translate into cures.
“Watching students see the human side of science is transformative. Walking side by side and witnessing their dedication and support for the American Cancer Society and its work is inspiring,” states Assistant Professor Jen Dabrowski.
