School may be out for the summer, but the work doesn’t stop for Elon music theatre majors.
This summer, Elon music theatre majors are hard at work across the country in many different facets.
Music theatre majors can be seen performing at prestigious Equity theatres such as The Muny, Music Theatre Wichita, Flat Rock Playhouse, Forestburgh Playhouse, Merry-Go-Round Playhouse and Maine State Music Theatre. Numerous students can be seen in leading roles at wonderful summer stock theatres, such as Cortland Repertory Theatre, New London Barn Playhouse, Tibbits Summer Theatre, Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre and others.
Several music theatre majors also chose to intern or apprentice in different facets of the business, interning at a variety of places including Stewart Whitley Casting in NYC, Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, Jax Media, Film, and Production Company, NBC Seeso, and The Performing Arts Project, being a voice-over and recording artist for Recorded Books, or studying acting in Italy with the Accademia dell’Arte.
