The Department of Performing Arts will present its fall musical production, the blockbuster Broadway hit “Hello Dolly!”, on Oct. 26-28 and Nov. 2-4.
Based on the play “The Matchmaker” by Thornton Wilder, “Hello Dolly!” bursts with humor, romance, high-energy dancing, and some of the greatest songs in musical theater history. The musical’s book is by Michael Stewart with music and lyrics by Jerry Herman.
The romantic and comic exploits of Dolly Gallagher-Levi, turn-of-the-century matchmaker and “woman who arranges things,” are certain to thrill and entertain audiences again and again. The show’s memorable songs include “Put On Your Sunday Clothes,” “Ribbons Down My Back,” “Before the Parade Passes By,” “Hello, Dolly,” “Elegance,” and “It Only Takes a Moment.”
Elon’s production is directed by Catherine McNeela and is choreographed by Michael Jablonski. All shows are at 7:30 p.m.
Admission: $13 or Elon ID. Tickets are now available at the Center for the Arts Box Office or by calling (336) 278-5610.
