Tickets are now available for the Jan. 10 lecture by Moore, a bestselling author, social entrepreneur and motivational leader. Moore will speak in McCrary Theatre at 6 p.m.
Bestselling author, social entrepreneur and motivational leader, Wes Moore is a Rhodes scholar who founded the education technology startup, BridgeEDU. In April 2017, Moore was named Chief Executive Officer of the Robin Hood Foundation, the largest poverty-fighting organization in New York. Robin Hood houses, feeds, trains, educates, advises and cares for hundreds of thousands of men, women and children living in poverty.
Moore is also a vocal advocate for disadvantaged youth, as well as veterans in need. In 2012 he served on Robin Hood’s Veterans Advisory Board, which brought military, non-profit, and government leaders together to connect veterans living in poverty to critical services.
His first book, “The Other Wes Moore,” offered insight into the mentors and support networks as he grew up that kept him from falling into a life of crime and drugs.
