Ahead of the start of the 2017 academic year, Elon University welcomes Hillel interim director Betsy Polk to campus. Polk joins the team with a vision for a re-energized and welcoming Jewish Life on the university campus anchored at the Sklut Hillel Center located on College Ave.
Polk is a co-founder of The Mulberry Partners, a successful Chapel Hill, N.C., consulting firm focused on leadership development, and brings decades of experience in team-building and organizational management to Hillel. She has worked with N.C. Hillel in the past, and has deep ties to the Jewish communities throughout North Carolina. She is the co-author of the award-winning book, “Power through Partnership: How Women Lead Better Together.”
In her new role, Polk will supervise the Hillel Staff, lead the professional team to excellence, and work to engage and inspire an exciting vision for engagement of all Jewish students on campus.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in English literature from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and her master’s degree in organization development from the American University in Washington, DC. She also holds MBTI certificatiion TEAMSTEPPS master trainer, and is a Leaders Collaborative Cohort member.
