Eleven students representing a variety of undergraduate degrees began the graduate program in early September.
Elon University welcomed a new class of 11 students in the Master of Science in Management program during a Sept. 5 orientation session.
The 33-credit-hour program offers concentrations in organizational analytics and corporate communications, the latter a partnership between the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business and the School of Communications. Nine students in the cohort are focusing in corporate communications and two are pursuing organizational analytics.
The cohort earned undergraduate degrees from Elon University, Appalachian State University, College of Charleston, N.C. State University and Syracuse University, and represents a variety of majors including communications, business administration, marketing, English, applied mathematics and journalism.
During the orientation session, the cohort heard from Steven House, provost and executive vice president; Raghu Tadepalli, dean of the Love School of Business; Jen Platania, associate dean of the Love School of Business; and Rob Moorman, Frank S. Holt Professor of Business Leadership. Members of the MBA/MScM Student Alumni Association spoke about opportunities and resources available to students.
The session also included dinner and a StrengthsQuest workshop exploring talent themes.
The Master of Science in Management is open to students from all undergraduate majors and fits the career needs of both new graduates and working professionals. In as little as 10 months, students can graduate with critical business knowledge and highly-demanded skills in organizational analytics or corporate communications.
