Jennifer Mencarini in the Office of Career & Student Development is among 45 people in Leadership Greensboro’s Class of 2018 who represent business, education, government, nonprofit and neighborhood organizations.
Led by the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, the program – which first began in 1977 – offers “in-depth exposure to critical issues facing the community through lectures, discussion groups, on-site visits, simulations and other activities.”
Mencarini joined the Elon Law community in July 2015 and supports students in reaching the highest levels of learning and development during their law school career, and as they seek employment during law school and after graduation. She graduated from law school at Emory University, and subsequently practiced law in Texas for 11 years, specializing in defending health care providers who had been sued for malpractice.
In 2008, she returned to graduate school to pursue a degree in human rights and social justice, and then worked on diversity initiatives in the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs at Southern Methodist University.
