Lake was a presenter at the Women in Science Scholars Program of the N.C. GlaxoSmithKline Foundation Annual Meeting on October 2 in Cary, NC. She described her life in Denmark in the Fall of 2016, where she studied Public Health.
Senior Bethany Lake, a statistics and public health double-major, gave a presentation on her study abroad experience in Denmark in the Fall of 2016 at the Women in Science Scholars Program of the N.C. GlaxoSmithKline Foundation Annual Meeting on Oct. 2 in Cary, N.C.
Lake described her life with her host family and her studies in epidemiology and migrant health care. Kaitlyn Walsh ’18, a biochemistry major, also attended the meeting.
Both are Elon’s current GSK Women in Science scholars. They receive a scholarship from the N.C. GSK Foundation and have the opportunity to be mentored by a GSK woman scientist.
