Students can develop their professional selling skills through the Amica Elon Sales Challenge.
The Chandler Family Professional Sales Center has partnered with Amica Mutual Insurance Company to offer the 2017 Amica Elon Sales Challenge for Elon undergraduate students.
In two-person teams, students research and document Amica’s employer brand, including the promote-from-within culture. Students prepare a written sales presentation and record a role play promoting the company’s associate adjuster position to college students. A panel of Amica representatives will judge the deliverables. First-place and second-place teams win $1,300 and $700, respectively.
All majors are invited to participate. The deadline to sign up is Oct. 13.
Established in 1907, Amica is the oldest mutual insurer of automobiles in the United States. Amica is a direct writer of personal insurance with auto, home, umbrella and marine coverages, and has 3,400 employees nationwide and 44 offices throughout the country.
The Chandler Family Professional Sales Center, established in 2008 by an endowment gift from Elon Trustee Thomas E. Chandler, owner of Chandler Concrete Co., and his family, promotes professional selling and sales management, provides high-quality instruction to both students and sales executives, and conducts research that advances the field of sales. The program’s strong sales curriculum and experiential learning component earned it the distinction as a “Top University Sales Program for 2017” by the Sales Education Foundation.
