Tony Weaver Jr. '16 was among the 30 successful leaders under the age of 30 Forbes included in its "30 Under 30 Education 2018" list for leading the pack in education innovation.
Weaver, who graduated from Elon in 2016 with degrees in theatre arts and strategic communication, is the founder of Weird Enough Productions, an education technology company focused on combating media misrepresentation through original content production and media literacy education. With 13 original short films and a web comic in development to tackle topics like fake news, Weird Enough Productions impacts some 3,200 students, according to Forbes.
In 2016 Weaver was named a Black Male Achievement Fellow by Echoing Green, an international organization that identifies exceptional emerging leaders and helps them impact the world. He has also received fellowships from Camelback Ventures and The Peace First Foundation.
