Throughout the month of November, the undergraduate brothers of the Lambda-Lambda Chapter of Kappa Sigma Fraternity at Elon University grew mustaches to raise awareness and solicit donations for men’s health issues in support of the Movember Foundation.
The Movember Foundation is the only charity tackling men’s health on a global scale, year round. This includes addressing some of the biggest health issues faced by men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
Elon Kappa Sigma began the month of November with a goal of raising $17,000 to be donated to the “Movember” Foundation campaign. After a full month of putting their razors down and raising money, the fraternity was able to surpass their goal of $17,000.
The chapter finished the month with a grand total of $19,228 raised, with the chapter ranking fourth nationally among college campuses. This is the fifth consecutive year Elon Kappa Sigma has raised over $10,000 for this worthy cause.
The chapter looks forward to next November when they will participate in the Movember Foundation campaign again.
