Wes Durham ’88, Tom Kosempa ’91, Lance Stewart ’92, Kevin Roley ’93 and Erik Kendall ’11 all played prominent roles in the Charlotte-based production company’s Jan. 21 telecast.
While Raycom Sports’ Jan. 21 broadcast featured a men’s basketball matchup between the Miami Hurricanes and North Carolina State Wolfpack, the Atlantic Coast Conference showdown also had a strong Elon University presence.
The Sunday matinee – an 86-81 Miami victory – included five Elon alumni contributing to the basketball telecast at Raleigh’s PNC Arena, led by Wes Durham ’88 handling play-by-play duties and Erik Kendall ’11 serving as producer. Tom Kosempa ’91 (official stats), Lance Stewart ’92 (camera) and Kevin Roley ’93 (scorebug operator) were also on hand working the ACC regular schedule contest.
Following the televised game, Durham pointed out that there was “over 20 years of Elon pride in the production of ACC basketball today.”
A production, distribution and event management company based in Charlotte, Raycom Sports has broadcasted college football and basketball contests through its network of local affiliates since 1982. The Jan. 21 game was broadcast regionally on WFMY and WRAL, ACC Network affiliates.
