Beta Alpha Psi welcomes 20 business students

The honor organization initiated 20 students during a spring semester ceremony.

Twenty Martha and Spencer Love School of Business students were initiated into Elon’s Lambda Xi chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, the international honor organization for financial information students and professionals, on Feb. 6, 2018.

Following the initiation ceremony, the society held its annual spring interest meeting. Susan Anderson, professor of accounting, spoke to prospective members about the benefits of joining Beta Alpha Psi and the opportunity to participate in the VITA (Voluntary Income Tax Assistance) program.

Elon’s Lambda Xi chapter holds weekly meetings with guest speakers to provide insight into members’ potential industry or firm. Past guest speakers have included representatives from PwC, KPMG, EY, Deloitte, Lincoln Financial, RSM and Grant Thornton.

The chaper has won the Student Government Association's “Organization of the Year” Award twice in the past decade and was honored with the Rev. Richard McBride Campus and Greater Community Involvement Award for its commitment to volunteer work.
