Schedule of events for Elon Law's 2018 Diversity Week

Several student groups have organized programs from Feb. 19-24 to showcase the impact and importance of diversity in the legal profession.

Elon Law’s annual Diversity Week takes place Feb. 19-24, 2018, where programs for the law school community will explore and foster dialogue about diversity and inclusion in the American legal profession. Programs offering food require advanced registration. 

The American Bar Association Center for Racial and Ethnic Diversity and the ABA Young Lawyers Division honored Elon Law’s inaugural Diversity Week programming four years ago when it finished first in their Next Steps Diversity Challenge.

Movin’ on Up: Black History Trivia

In a continued effort to celebrate Black History Month, this trivia game has been designed to highlight the accomplishments of notable African-American celebrities, artists, scholars and activist in a fun way. The Black Law Student Association encourages peers to participate in BLSA's Black History Trivia by answering questions to win the grand prize: movie tickets! Trivia topics include, but are not limited to, pop culture and music, sports and entertainment, facts and figures regarding representation in the legal profession and #BlackLivesMatter.

Pipeline to the Legal Profession

A day of learning about the legal profession at Elon Law School. This program is open to any student considering a legal career, and may be especially beneficial to first- and second-year undergraduates as you plan your courses over the next few years. The event will include a mock class, tips for getting into and succeeding in law school, and the opportunity to learn from and interact with current law students, law professors, and practicing attorneys. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
