Elon University to test outdoor alarm, emergency alert systems at 10 a.m. TODAY

The test of the outdoor alarm and emergency alert systems by Elon Campus Safety and Police will take place at 10 a.m. and will last about three minutes.

Campus Safety and Police will be conducting a test of the outdoor alarm system and the emergency alert systems on Tuesday, March 20, at 10 a.m. The test will last approximately 3 minutes and an all clear will be given at the conclusion of the test. 

During this test, as is the case during a real emergency, the Elon community will be notified in the following ways: 

  •     Outdoor siren
  •     E-Alert: text and email message
  •     Digital signage 
  •     Telephone speakers/display in campus offices and classrooms
  •     Computer desktop alert in computer labs
  •     E-Net banner
