Students have signed up to participate in the 15th annual Chick'n Pick'n.
The Danieley Center Neighborhood will host its 15th annual Chik’n Pick’n cooking competition from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 21 on the outdoor basketball courts behind Daniel Commons.
The event invites students to marinate, grill and season a chicken breast to be judged by Elon faculty and staff members. Completed entrees are judged on their taste, appearance and plating, and the competition is open to all Elon students.
The judges this year will be:
- Terry Tomasek, director of the Elon Academy, associate professor of Education and faculty director of the Colonnades Neighborhood
- Barb Carlton, coordinator of residential campus dining and engagement
- Mike Neiduski, Title IX investigator
- Matt Buckmaster, assistant dean of Global Education, associate professor of Music and incoming faculty director of the Danieley Center Neighborhood
“Chick’n Pick’n is one of our favorite annual traditions in Danieley,” said Colin Donohue, director of student media, instructor of Communications and faculty director of the neighborhood. “It offers a great sense of fun, camaraderie and togetherness. Plus, students often cook up some interesting and tasty chicken dishes.”
The event will also feature games, additional food and photo opportunities with Cluck the Chicken, so even those who don’t wish to cook may attend.
