Elon ranks #1 in North Carolina, top-50 in the nation for job placement

A new ranking by Zippia, a career services website, rates Elon among the nation’s best in employment 10 years after graduation.  

Elon University is named by Zippia as North Carolina’s leading university for preparing students for employment. The career services website based its 2018 rankings on data from the federal government’s Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS).

The IPEDS data estimates that 94 percent of Elon graduates were employed 10 years after graduation.

Top North Carolina colleges for employment 10 years after graduation (IPEDS data):

  1. Elon University – 94%
  2. Wake Forest University – 93%
  3. Wingate University – 93%
  4. Duke University – 92%

This is the second year that Zippia has produced its “Best College in Each State For Getting A Job” ranking. According to the company: “It’s becoming more and more important for college graduates to prepare for a competitive workforce. This means picking the right major, having great internship and work experiences, but most of all, choosing the right college to attend in the first place.”

Class of 2017 information from Elon’s Student Professional Development Center showed that 96% of graduates were employed, in grad school, completing an internship or doing service nine months after graduation. Average salary for those working was about $43,000 and 93 percent were working in jobs related to their career goals.
