The outdoor concert on Elon’s campus will feature the North Carolina Brass Band performing patriotic and Broadway show tunes.
The Elon University campus will be filled with the sounds of patriotic and Broadway show tunes on Thursday, June 21, as the university hosts the North Carolina Brass Band for a summer concert for the entire community.
The free outdoor concert will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the grove of oaks by the Martin Alumni Center at East Haggard and North O’Kelly Avenues.
The North Carolina Brass Band, conducted by Brian Meixner, features 25 brass players and three percussionists. Based in High Point, N.C., the band features the full spectrum of brass instruments with Lindsay Kesselman as guest vocalist for this performance, which will also feature a medley of U.S. armed forces anthems. The concert is open to the public and everyone is invited to bring a picnic lunch, with Smitty’s Homemade Ice Cream to be provided during the concert.
In the event of rain, the concert will be held in McKinnon Hall in the Moseley Center.
