Just before 7 p.m. Saturday, Duke Energy restored electricity to areas that had been without service since Thursday's storm.
Just before 7 p.m. today, Duke Energy crews restored power to the Station at Mill Point, South Campus and other neighborhoods and apartments that have been without service since Thursday’s storm.
Student residents of The Station at Mill Point and other campus housing who had been planning to spend Saturday night at Alumni Gym may return to their apartments.
Koury Center will close at 9 p.m. Saturday and will reopen Sunday at 9 a.m. Elon Physical Plant crews will be checking circuits and equipment to make sure all systems are functioning properly.
Any off-campus student who is still without power and needs a place to stay tonight should contact the Student Life administrator on call via Campus Safety and Police at 336-278-5555.
As a reminder, Elon University will be open and operating on the normal schedule on Monday. With power restored to the psychology/human services studies building, classes will be held in their regular locations.

The Town of Elon has declared a state of emergency due to the storm damage. There are a large number of fallen trees in neighborhoods and several homes received serious damage. During the storm, the municipal building was also damaged due to falling limbs from a large tree. The town’s Public Works, Police, and Fire Departments are working to clear areas affected by the storm.
Students who live in Town of Elon neighborhoods are asked to be patient during the cleanup and watch for information about debris removal. The Town of Elon Facebook page is a good source of information:
