Connor Dwyer ’19 and Dan Brekus ’20 presented their analysis and recommendations for an artificial intelligence-related business case during the University of Arizona’s annual competition.
The Elon team of Connor Dwyer ’19 and Dan Brekus ’20 placed second in the Central Region bracket of the 2018 Collegiate Ethics Case Competition hosted by the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona.
The competition’s business case focused on the adoption of AI-powered surveillance tools for law enforcement and government agencies. Teams were evaluated on their presentation delivery, depth of analysis, persuasiveness, creativity, recommendations that are both ethical and practical in a business context, and responses to judges’ questions.
“It was a rewarding and challenging experience,” said Dwyer, a management major from Andover, Massachusetts. “I am glad Dan and I were able to compete and learn from other young professionals. A special thank you to all involved with the Elon team.”
Christy Benson, associate professor of business law, mentored the Elon students and accompanied them to Arizona.
