Paylor, a cashier at Fountain Market in Clohan Hall, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
The Elon community is mourning the loss of Sharon Paylor, an Elon Dining employee who has served as cashier at Fountain Market in Clohan Hall since 2015.
Paylor passed away after suffering a heart attack on her way to work at Elon on Wednesday, Jan. 2. Coworkers remember her as a dedicated individual who was always willing to lend a hand as well as to share a joke and a smile. "I know that she will be truly missed," said Laura Thompson, district manager for Harvest Table Culinary Group.
A resident of Caswell County for most of her life, she was a 1976 graduate of Bartlett-Yancey High School. She previously worked for Sears Corp. and was a faithful member of New Ephesus Baptist Church in Ruffin. She is survived by Marvin Paylor, her husband of 36 years, as well as daughters Prentiss Danee’ Paylor and Abena Andraisa Paylor.
Paylor's funeral will be held Sunday, Jan. 6, at New Ephesus Baptist Church at 8939 U.S. 158 East in Ruffin, N.C. Visitation will begin at 2:15 p.m. followed by the funeral at 3 p.m.
