A recent article in U.S. News & World Report about students taking a "gap year" after graduating from high school and enrolling in college featured insights from Greg Zaiser, vice president for enrollment.
The article by reporter Josh Moody looked at why students may delay enrollment in a college or university and some of the benefits they may obtain from a gap year.
Zaiser notes in the article that students are increasingly aware that it may be in their best interest to take a year after high school to engage in alternative learning before entering college. Often gap requests come from very high achieving students who are self-aware and will perform better in a college environment after a gap experience. And often, they do," Zaiser told U.S. News.
